The Institute of Montessori Education for Teachers (IMET) is the only training centre in Pakistan recognized and affiliated with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) in the Netherlands.
The AMI follows the principles formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori, who founded the organization in 1929. The AMI method places a strong emphasis on a child-centered approach to learning, and uses holistic practices to nurture the child intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically.

Tayyaba Saleem
AMI Primary Trainer
Tayyaba Saleem is a qualified AMI Primary Trainer. She received her Montessori Diploma at the 3 to 6 level in 1998 from Montessori Teachers Training Cenatre (MTTC) which is now IMET, Karachi, affiliated with AMI Holland. In 2016, she conducted the first AMI Assistant course in Morocco and then the second one in 2018. During her stay in Morocco, she got an opportunity to work closely with the children in Ecole Montessori, Casablanca. Tayyaba Saleem, the Director of Training at IMET, heads the AMI Primary Course 3-6 in Pakistan with exceptional dedication and expertise. She has also conducted multiple workshops for the Pakistan Montessori Association. She was associated with The Aster School as a consultant to work together with them in creating a suitable and conducive environment for children and to provide them with valuable learning and lifeย experiences.
Madhavi Gaddam
AMI Elementary Trainer
Madhavi Gaddam, 1st AMI Elementary Trainer in Asia, is the Director of Training and currently running her 3rd AMI Elementary Diploma Course under The Montessori Training and Research Trust. She possesses a Master of Education from Osmania University, Hyderabad. She has her AMI Montessori Diploma at the 3 to 6 level, 6 to 12 level, and 12 to 18 done from Hershey's Montessori, Cleveland, USA. She founded Medha Montessori School, Hyderabad. She has vast experience working in the Montessori Elementary environment. She assisted Ann Dunne, Ireland, Greg Mac Donald, USA, and Kay Baker USA on their courses. She has conducted several AMI orientation programs at the elementary level for Indian centers and outside India. Presently, she is serving as a director of training for MTRT.
Lakshmi Shekhar
AMI Primary Trainer
Lakshmi Shekhar brings over 15 years of Montessori teaching experience to her role as Director of Training at the Montessori Training Centre in St. Louis, MO. Certified in AMI Montessori instruction at both Primary and Elementary levels, she possesses a profound understanding of Montessori principles that fuels her passion for nurturing each child's curiosity. Lakshmi is dedicated to creating a learning environment that promotes comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging, ensuring every child feels valued and empowered. Her commitment to holistic development is matched by her love for traveling, reading, and lifelong learning. With a Masterโs degree in English Literature, Lakshmi integrates her extensive knowledge and experience to inspire and educate future Montessori educators.
